Traditional pit-roasted, mule-drawn tahona-crushed, open fermented, double-distilled mezcal from 100% wild-harvested Agave Cuixe (Agave karwinskii var.) harvested at 13 years of age, bottled at 47% ABV. Produced in Santiago Matatlan, Oaxaca, by mezcalero Gregorio Martinez Jarquin. The rare, wild agave Cuixe - like its relatives Madrecuie and Barril - grows a single stalk, with leaves spreading at the top. It is difficult to work with and requires extensive experience to achieve and optimal mezcal. The result is a spirit of great intensity.
