CHATEAU LA GARDE - 750ML
Chateau la Garde, whose origins date back to the 18th century, was acquired by Dourthe in 1990. This is quite possibly one of the finest gravel outcrops in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. Château La Garde was one of the first vineyard estates to make a conscious commitment to preserve the natural environment and adopt integrated viticulture. It is now "Terra Vitis" certified. It is an approach resulting in the production of premium quality grapes and is fully mindful of both Man and the environment. Varietals: 57% Cabernet Sauvignon ,40% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot Aging: 14 months in oak barrels, 33% new Aromatics: Ripe fruits with hints of licorice and a smoky character Palate: Round, powerful with a pleasurable finish. Concentrated, deep ruby in appearance. The nose is intense and fresh, releasing a hint of smokiness typical of Pessac-Leognan. The fullness on the palate develops within a concentrated tannic structure. Toasty notes reflect perfectly integrated oak character while the palate culminates in an intense finish. A beautifully balanced wine which pays tribute to the suberb terroir at Chateau la Garde.
