Description
Lagavulin’s 11-year-old Sweet Peat is a special-edition single malt from one of Islay’s most revered distilleries. Lagavulin Distillery, founded in 1816 and located on the island’s rugged southern coast, is known for producing rich, heavily peated whisky with slow distillation and long fermentation times. These methods create Lagavulin’s signature combination of smoke, maritime salinity, and deep malt character. The Sweet Peat bottling balances Lagavulin’s iconic peat smoke with a rounder, softer sweetness derived from carefully selected casks-often a blend of refill and charred American oak. Matured in Islay’s coastal warehouses, the whisky absorbs subtle briny elements from the Atlantic air, resulting in a peat-driven yet dessert-like profile with smoky toffee, vanilla cream, and gentle spice.
