The Matsui Sakura Cask is a single malt distilled by the Kurayoshi distillery in Tottori prefecture. The Matsui Single Malt is aged in Sakura casks, the famous and iconic Japanese cherry tree. This tree plays an important role in Japanese culture, often used as a metaphor to underline the ephemeral nature of both beauty and life. It has always been a source of inspiration for Japanese artists. Double distilled in Pot Still, then aged in Sakura casks in Tottori prefecture, in a natural environment conducive to ageing. This whisky is then reduced with natural spring water from Mount Daisen. This remarkable expression comes from a single Sakura cask, aged for a duration of 5 years. It is here that the essence of delicate flowers is beautifully pronounced, offering a sensory experience that embodies the perfect harmony between craftsmanship and dedication.
