Uruapan Blanco is the white rum par excellence of the Mexican disitlery Casa Tarasco. Also known as Charanda and protected by a Denominacion de Origen (D.O), this white rum is made from local sugar cane grown at high altitude on volcanic soil

Charanda Uruapan Single Blended Blanco Rum

Uruapan Blanco is a blended Rum composed of 50% sugarcane juice distilled in copper stills, and 50% molasses distilled in French stills. The variety of sugar cane is called “Saccharum Officinarum”, cultivated at 4180 feet of altitude in a volcanic soil also called “Charanda” by the inhabitants of Purepechas.
