The Château’s 2021 Red immediately draws you into the licorice-laced, noble vegetal depth that Mourvèdre offers in its youth. The palate is sappy, fresh, and long, with a lovely saline finish on fine, refreshing tannins. A year in bottle has done it the world of good (released in June 2023), and it’s ready to open up and lengthen with the onset of spring.
