The 2023 rosé does indeed come from a relatively dry year, but it expresses this aspect in a very positive way, through density, energy and contained power.
When we taste it, on February 22, it is still waiting for several weeks, to relax, amplify, harmonize; but already it is an avalanche of red fruits, some spices, a bit of characteristic licorice, and a carnal and pulpy amplitude that trigger an explosion of sensations… sensational!
By summer, it will gain in flesh and saline length, enhanced by some elegant little bitters.
The palate is sappy, fresh, long, with a beautiful saline finish on fine and refreshing tannins.
The Château’s 2021 Red immediately draws you into the licorice-laced, noble vegetal depth that Mourvèdre offers in its youth. A year in bottle has done it the world of good (released in June 2023), and it’s ready to open up and lengthen with the onset of spring.
