Description
After a mild winter, spring is marked by alternating heat and cool weather until April. In May, milder or even warm temperatures favor a fairly early and auspicious start to flowering. Spring ends with a water deficit that will not be filled. July and August are marked by alternating storms and very hot periods. At the end of August, very high temperatures settle in and allow the grapes to perfect their maturity as the harvest approaches. At Chanson, the harvest begins on September 5th under radiant sunshine and ends on September 16th. The white wines are very expressive with aromas of white-fleshed fruits and a beautiful structure.
