Kaiyo Whisky The Single is a 7 year old whisky, made of all malted barley and produced on a Coffey still in Japan, is matured in American Oak ex-Kentucky Bourbon barrels before spending additional time finishing in both Japanese Mizunara oak and ex-Tennessee Whiskey barrels. All of our whiskies are made from malted barley, remain un-chillfiltered, and enjoy a three-month ocean maturation that helps bring out the unique flavors that can only be obtained from Mizunara Oak. Tasting Notes: On the nose, this whisky is crisp and clean with fruity and floral notes. The same flavors continue on the palate with a spark of sweetness up front with vanilla, honey and jasmine, which gives way to the real star of the show: exotic fruits and lots of them. Coconut, banana, pineapple, mango, green apple, pear and honeydew take the quintessential Japanese whisky flavor profile and bring it to the next level.
