This a rare and very special Port wine that aged in barrel for more than 40 years. With the very long and slow ageing in barrel it acquired a beautiful gold colour with hints of emerald and a very rich, complex and wonderful bouquet.

Only a very limited quantity is bottled every year.

Description

The Quinta do Portal is a Portuguese, family-owned, and independent estate that has passionately embraced the concept of a “Boutique Winery.” We are dedicated to producing Douro wines, special category Ports, Moscatel, and Olive Oil.
With a forward-looking vision, we were among the first of the new generation of Douro producers who recognised the potential of the region’s still wines and committed to creating world-class Douro wines.
Leading the winemaking and production is Paulo Coutinho, who has been with us since 1994. We have relied on the technical expertise of Pascal Chatonnet for Douro wines since 1992.
Quality has always been our guiding principle, as evidenced by the numerous national and international awards received for our wines and olive oils.
In March 2024, The Fladgate Partnership acquired Quinta do Portal, strengthening its commitment to preserving the tradition and quality that define the brand, while embracing new challenges and opportunities for the future.
