Description
Château Belgrave is part of Dourthe Brand & Vineyards. Located in Saint-Laurent, separated from the Saint-Julien appellation only by a stream, Chateau Belgrave is one of the oldest Cru wines in Médoc. It was classified as a 5th growth in 1855 for the exceptional quality of its deep gravel soils. The vineyards is 95% identical to what it was back in 1855. Since 1979, Dourthe has been fortunate to manage this former hunting estate, much acclaimed during the reign of Louis XV.

Varietals: 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot Aging: 12 months in oak, 35% new Aromatics: Intense bouquet of ripe black fruit such as cassis Palate: Smooth, full-bodied fruity texture, lovely fine and silky tannins. Elegant, full and fresh with well-integrated oak. Located at the border of the St Julien appelation, the ferret & the crown tell the story of the estate which used to be a hunting lodge under Louis XV.
